The warranty is valid for the listed Monroe products to the original retail purchaser against functional and/or material defects.

The warranty is valid for 1 year or 20,000kms, whichever comes first. The warranty is limited to the delivery of a new shock absorber. All claims are handled by the Monroe distributor with all the relevant information such as:

  • Customers name and address
  • Vehicle identification data
  • Fitting or sale date
  • Proof of purchase documents
  • Shock Absorber Part Number
  • Description of Defect.

Excluded from warranty are:

  1. Regular wear-out.
  2. Shock Absorbers fitted contrary to application information in the Monroe catalog or its subsequent amendments.
  3. Shock Absorbers that have been modified or damaged by incorrectly mounting or incorrect use of the vehicle, contrary to the car manufacturers’ specification or Monroe’s.
  4. Shock Absorbers damaged by mounting on another car than indicated on Monroe catalogue or its subsequent amendments.
  5. Shock absorbers with damaged piston rods or damaged oil seals due to holding the piston rod with a wrench or pliers instead of the correct tool.(incorrect fitting)
  6. Premature wear-out caused by re-use of damaged mounting parts such as: rubber dirt shields, damaged bump stops, coil springs and other suspension parts.
  7. Damages caused by an accident, negligence or subject to misuse.
  8. Shock absorbers operated commercially or for racing sports.
  9. Ride- Levelers with air sleeve abrasion caused by incorrect mounting.
  10. Reconditioned or recycled shock absorbers.
  11. Defects caused by lack of maintenance or maintenance wrongly executed on the vehicle.
  12. Warranty is valid for the replacement of 2 shock absorbers on the same axle.
